Baccarat Standards
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are of a value less than 10 are give a value of their printed number whereas ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they strictly depict the 2 hands to be dealt).
2 hands of 2 cards will then be given out to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for each hand will be the sum total of the two cards, but the 1st digit is dumped. For example, a hand of seven … 5 has a value of 2 (sevenplusfive=12; drop the ‘1′).
A third card could be given depending on the following standards:
- If the gambler or banker has a value of eight or nine, the two gamblers stand.
- If the gambler has 5 or lower, he hits. bettors stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the player hits, a chart might be used to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The higher of the two scores wins. Winning wagers on the banker pay 19 to twenty (even money less a 5% commission. Commission is tracked and paid out when you leave the table so ensure that you have cash left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to one. Winning bets for tie generally pay out 8 to 1 and occasionally nine to 1. (This is a crazy wager as ties happen lower than 1 every 10 hands. Run away from betting on a tie. Even so odds are vastly better – 9 to one versus eight to one)
When played properly, baccarat offers relatively decent odds, away from the tie wager ofcourse.
Baccarat Strategy
As with just about all games, Baccarat has some established misunderstandings. One of which is very similar to a roulette myth. The past is surely not a predictor of future happenings. Staying abreast of prior results on a chart is for sure a total waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most established and feasibly most successful method is the one-three-two-6 method. This technique is deployed to accentuate payout and lowering risk.
Begin by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, remove four so you have two on the third wager. If you win the 3rd wager, add 2 to the four on the table for a sum total of 6 on the 4th wager.
If you lose on the 1st bet, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. Attaining a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. In other words you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
