Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards that are valued under ten are said to be at face value and on the other hand 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they only appear as the 2 hands to be given out).

Two hands of two cards will then be played to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The score for each hand will be the sum of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is removed. For e.g., a hand of 7 and five produces a total of two (7plusfive=12; drop the ‘1′).

A 3rd card could be played depending on the following practices:

- If the gambler or banker has a total score of eight or 9, both gamblers stand.

- If the bettor has five or lower, he hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the gambler hits, a chart might be used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The bigger of the 2 scores wins. Victorious bets on the banker payout nineteen to twenty (even odds less a 5 percent commission. Commission is monitored and paid out when you leave the table so be sure to have dollars still before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winning bets for tie normally pay out 8 to one but on occasion nine to 1. (This is a terrible wager as ties will occur lower than one every ten hands. Run away from betting on a tie. Still, odds are considerably better – nine to 1 vs. eight to 1)

Played effectively, baccarat presents generally decent odds, away from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with most games, Baccarat has some well-known misconceptions. 1 of which is similar to a roulette myth. The past is surely not an indicator of future actions. Tracking of past outcomes on a chart is simply a total waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most established and probably most successful method is the 1-3-2-6 method. This tactic is employed to accentuate payouts and minimizing risk.

start by wagering one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, remove four so you have two on the third gamble. If you win the third wager, add two to the 4 on the table for a total of six on the fourth bet.

If you don’t win on the first bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the second creates a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. A win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Therefore you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
