Baccarat Protocols
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards valued less than 10 are give a value of their printed number while at the same time ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they only act as the two hands to be played).
Two hands of 2 cards shall then be given to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The value for each hand shall be the sum total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is discarded. For example, a hand of seven as well as five results in a total score of 2 (7plusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).
A 3rd card might be given out depending on the foll. rules:
- If the player or banker has a tally of eight or nine, then both gamblers stand.
- If the gambler has 5 or less, he/she hits. bettors stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart is used to see if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The bigger of the two scores will be the winner. Successful stakes on the banker pay nineteen to 20 (even odds minus a five percent commission. Commission is monitored and moved out when you leave the table so make sure you have funds left over before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to 1. Winning bets for tie normally pays eight to 1 but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is not a good bet as ties will occur lower than one every 10 hands. Stay away from placing bets on a tie. However odds are somewhat better – nine to 1 vs. eight to one)
When done correctly, baccarat provides pretty decent odds, apart from the tie wager obviously.
Baccarat Tactics
As with all games, Baccarat has some well-known misunderstandings. One of which is similar to a roulette myth. The past is never actually a predictor of future events. Staying abreast of past outcomes on a chart is undoubtedly a complete waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most popular and feasibly most successful tactic is the 1-three-two-six method. This tactic is used to magnify payout and lowering risk.
commence by betting one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, clear away 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd gamble. If you win the 3rd bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a grand total of six on the 4th gamble.
If you don’t win on the first wager, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the second brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. A win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. In other words you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
