Baccarat Regulations
Baccarat is bet on with eight decks of cards in a dealer’s shoe. Cards under 10 are counted at face value and with Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and Ace is one. Bets are made on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these are not really people; they just represent the 2 hands to be dealt).
Two cards are dealt to both the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for every hand is the sum of the cards, however the first number is discarded. For instance, a hand of five and 6 has a total of one (five plus 6 = 11; ditch the 1st ‘1′).
A third card might be given using the following rules:
- If the gambler or house gets a total of eight or nine, the two players stand.
- If the player has less than five, she hits. Players otherwise hold.
- If the gambler stands, the house hits on five or less. If the player takes a card, a table is employed to see if the banker stands or takes a card.
Baccarat Banque Odds
The better of the two hands wins. Winning bets on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (equal cash minus a 5% rake. The Rake is recorded and paid off when you leave the game so be sure to have cash left over just before you depart). Winning wagers on the player pay 1 to 1. Winning wagers for tie usually pays out at 8:1 but occasionally nine to one. (This is a bad bet as a tie occurs lower than one in every 10 hands. Avoid putting money on a tie. Although odds are substantially better for nine to one vs. 8 to 1)
Gambled on correctly baccarat offers pretty decent odds, aside from the tie bet of course.
Punto Banco Method
As with all games baccarat banque has a few common misconceptions. One of which is similar to a myth in roulette. The past is not a prophecy of events yet to happen. Recording previous outcomes at a table is a bad use of paper and an affront to the tree that was cut down for our paper desires.
The most established and almost certainly the most favorable method is the one, three, two, six method. This technique is deployed to build up winnings and limit risk.
Start by placing 1 dollar. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 units on the second bet. If you win you will now have six on the game table, remove four so you have 2 on the third round. If you succeed on the 3rd wager, deposit 2 to the 4 on the game table for a sum total of 6 on the 4th wager.
If you don’t win on the 1st wager, you take a loss of 1. A profit on the initial wager followed by a hit on the 2nd causes a loss of 2. Wins on the initial 2 with a defeat on the third provides you with a profit of two. And success on the initial 3 with a loss on the fourth means you break even. Winning all four bets gives you with 12, a take of 10. This means you are able to give up the second wager five times for every successful run of four wagers and still balance the books.
