Rules of Baccarat

Baccarat Regulations

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards valued less than 10 are counted at their printed value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they strictly symbolize the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two hands of two cards are then dealt to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for any hand will be the sum of the two cards, but the 1st digit is dropped. For eg, a hand of seven and 5 gives a tally of two (7plusfive=12; drop the ‘1′).

A third card might be played depending on the following codes:

- If the bettor or banker has a total score of 8 or nine, each gamblers stand.

- If the player has 5 or less, he/she hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the player hits, a chart might be used to decide if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the two scores is the winner. Victorious stakes on the banker pay out 19 to twenty (even odds minus a five percent commission. Commission is kept track of and cleared out when you leave the table so ensure you have dollars still before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie by and large pay out eight to 1 and sometimes 9 to one. (This is a bad gamble as ties will happen less than 1 every ten hands. be wary of putting money on a tie. Still, odds are vastly better – 9 to 1 versus eight to one)

When played properly, baccarat provides pretty good odds, aside from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with all games, Baccarat has some well-known misconceptions. 1 of which is very similar to a roulette myth. The past is not an indicator of future happenings. Monitoring of old outcomes on a chart is definitely a waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most popular and probably most successful technique is the 1-3-2-6 technique. This tactic is used to build up winnings and cutting back risk.

Begin by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract 4 so you have two on the 3rd gamble. If you win the third gamble, add two to the four on the table for a total of six on the 4th wager.

If you don’t win on the 1st wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. Attaining a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Therefore you can fail to win the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
