Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards valued less than ten are said to be at face value and on the other hand ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they merely symbolize the two hands to be dealt).

2 hands of two cards will now be given to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The value for every hand is the grand total of the 2 cards, but the first digit is dropped. For e.g., a hand of 7 as well as 5 has a total score of two (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card can be dealt depending on the foll. guidelines:

- If the player or banker has a total score of eight or nine, both gamblers stand.

- If the player has 5 or less, he hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the player hits, a chart might be used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The bigger of the 2 scores will be the winner. Successful stakes on the banker pay at 19 to twenty (even money minus a five percent commission. Commission is kept track of and paid out when you leave the table so ensure that you have $$$$$ remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie as a rule pay eight to one and occasionally nine to 1. (This is an awful wager as ties occur less than one every ten hands. Avoid laying money on a tie. However odds are noticeably better – 9 to one vs. 8 to 1)

When played properly, baccarat offers fairly good odds, apart from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with most games, Baccarat has some established misconceptions. 1 of which is close to a roulette misconception. The past is never actually a predictor of future results. Staying abreast of past conclusions on a chart is for sure a complete waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most common and feasibly most successful strategy is the 1-three-two-6 concept. This tactic is used to pump up payouts and limiting risk.

commence by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away 4 so you have two on the third wager. If you win the 3rd wager, add two to the 4 on the table for a value of six on the fourth gamble.

If you don’t win on the initial wager, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Thus you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
