Baccarat Protocols

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards that are valued less than 10 are said to be at their printed number while 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they only portray the two hands to be played).

Two hands of two cards will then be dealt to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for any hand shall be the total of the two cards, but the initial digit is removed. For example, a hand of 7 and 5 gives a total of 2 (7plus5=12; drop the ‘one’).

A third card might be given depending on the following protocols:

- If the bettor or banker has a score of 8 or 9, then both bettors stand.

- If the player has 5 or lower, he hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the gambler hits, a chart is used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the 2 scores is the winner. Winning wagers on the banker pay at 19 to 20 (even odds minus a 5 percent commission. Commission is tracked and cleared out when you leave the table so ensure you have money left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winning bets for tie normally pay out 8 to one and on occasion 9 to one. (This is a bad bet as ties happen less than 1 every 10 hands. Stay away from wagering on a tie. However odds are positively better – 9 to 1 versus eight to one)

When done accurately, baccarat provides pretty good odds, aside from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with just about every games, Baccarat has some well-known misunderstandings. One of which is similar to a roulette myth. The past is not a predictor of future outcomes. Staying abreast of past conclusions on a chart is a total waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most accepted and almost certainly most successful technique is the 1-three-2-6 technique. This scheme is used to boost winnings and controlling risk.

Begin by betting one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd gamble. If you win the third gamble, add 2 to the four on the table for a value of 6 on the 4th wager.

If you lose on the 1st wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of 2. Wins on the first two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Therefore that you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
